Scientific evidence suggests that toilet environments do pose a threat to public health—about 50-60% of all community acquired illnesses is attributed to infectious diseases transmitted indoor.

Scientific research has proven the FRESHFLOW concept to have the capacity to effectively reduce the microbial load in restrooms by up to 50%.

Transmission of diseases such as influenza, measles, rubella, chicken pox, rhinovirus infection, is enhanced in crowded and poorly ventilated indoor environments. A variety of infectious airborne microorganisms are brought into the indoor environment -Once indoor, the attendant microorganism can proliferate in a variety of ecological niches and serve as a source for airborne health-care associated infections. The effective dilution of the microbial concentration reduces the risk of infection.

While it is practically impossible to completely eliminate microorganisms from restrooms, natural and mechanical ventilation systems have been used to minimize the microbial load in public buildings. Buoyancy forces drive stale air upwards therefore subjecting the contaminated air to the outside, forcing fresh air into the room.

The FRESHFLOW Ventilation System has the advantage that it is connected directly to the toilet/urinal (or sluice) bowl, thereby preventing the microbial contaminants to disperse and reduce the risk of spreading diseases.

NOTE: Effective reduction in microbial load is dependent on the airflow capacity at the point of extraction. FRESHFLOW is the only system tested and approved to have the design and capacity to live up to these standards.
